吊   眼

A cat born out of a flowerbed eats the eyes of sleeping students. Because they couldn't see anything, the angry students stole the sun away. Without the sun, everything was plunged into darkness and people could do nothing. For the sake of the child who did not return home even though the sun had set, the home began a search.
The darkness pleads, “Please catch the thief.” The maiden with the knife, the cave full of shadows, all this is presented in this closed space. In front of narrow walls, sight is no longer to be trusted, you will be guided by voices into a hallucination made by hope, in which you are no longer a spectator sitting in the audience, but a sleepwalker. The logic of realistic thinking is no longer adapted to the dream world, and you will follow the shout of the performer, step by step, deep into the center of the dream world, a blind sunset.

In「吊   眼」, I turned to theatre in a locked, secret room (Shuji Terayama). The so-called secret-room drama essentially entails sealing and isolating the theater, thus creating an independent space in it. As Terayama said, "the audience is not only the ‘audience,’ but also the ‘audience,’ the ‘touch,’ and the ‘commentator.’ The only thing the audience can refer to is the audience's own imagination." Here, the focus is not the story of the playwright, but to present the fantasy created by the collective. In this fantasy, the actor is also the audience, and the audience is also the actor. "It's not a fully prepared play, but it begins to perform in the opportunities created by each other."
During this performance, the entire venue was darkened, and the actors controlled the light. The space was sealed, and the audience was not permitted to leave, not even to go to the bathroom. A phantom base, a different world, is created. It is different from reality, and in ture, makes it easier to see reality. The audience is not just a spectator; they need to be able to hear, to touch, to discuss, and use their imagination. Performance opportunities are created by both audience and spectator: to alienate all that is seen and heard, to penetrate the audience's safety zone by dangerous means, to break the theatrical stance, and to create a more irrational or absolutely rational stage. For example, the actor is also in the audience, being dragged by other actors to a dark place during the performance. The purpose of all this is to make the audience detached from reality, but also to get egoistic and excited emotions and desires in the theater space. When everything is over, the emotions and desires are detached and all that is left is a sense of ruin, and it is at this moment that we can finally perceive the deep reality and the fetters that bind us. At the end of the performance, all the actors run out of the venue without the audience noticing. They turn on all the lights in the dark place. All that is left is a glittering ruin.
Participation description: the audience will participate in the live drama performance with six full changes of stage scenes lasting about 1 hour. After the audience enters the theater, the space will be closed, and the actors will guide the audience into the performance space, and then leave the audience to their own accord. The audience can find actors and change the viewing position according to the arrangement of the plot.
